I've made a 6-page graphic novel about a very tall bird. There's not much going on at that height, so he decides to look for excitement somewhere else.

A sketchbook drawing from some time ago

About a year ago I was experimenting a lot with painting white acrylics over a photo, and then colouring it with materials like pencil.
I haven't been too motivated to work in my sketchbook the last few months, but now that there's finally some rays of sunshine when I wake up, I start to feel it itching again (:

Since January I'm following a subject called 'collage', and I thought it was about getting time to show you some of the work I made there (:

For the documentary 'Pretpark Nederland' we had to make a new dvd-cover. My interpretation was that, in the documentary, The Netherlands is portrayed as something you can't take very seriously, so I decided to use the image of a clown, since that also refers to an amusement park. I've got one version where he holds a tulip bulb that's about to explode, and one where he's standing in the rain.

[Funny update from a week later: my teacher said these two collages were the worst ones I made this semester :P]

We're doing some boring assignment; draw the journey of a plane (in 5 drawings) from inside and outside the plane, no fantasy allowed. So here's some of the outside:

Wood-cutters

Our last lesson before the holiday started, was 'drawing by observation' (or however something like that is called in English...). Me and a friend, Rianne, are always pretty bored during that lesson because you just have to draw a model for like two hours. So Rianne came up with the plan to draw with our wrong hands, so here is my wrong-handed-drawing called 'the tired wood-cutter' (I like 'wood-cutter' better than lumberjack):



Maybe it's a bit offensive/completely weird that he's naked, but well, we had to draw a nude model...

But best of all, it's holiday now and tomorrow I'll wake up in London! :D
